Casey wins national opinion writing award

The Society of Professional Journalists announced April 22 that Maura Casey and three other members of the Hartford Courant editorial board will share its National Editorial Writing Award. The prestigious award is being given for editorials written in the wake of the Newtown tragedy in December of 2012. The awards dinner will be held June 21 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
