In the past, I have worked as a worker on an assembly-line, a nurse's aide and as a counselor at a 108-bed homeless shelter.
It was perfect preparation for a writing career.
In more than two decades writing commentary, I've been a member of four editorial boards, including a three-year stint as an editorial writer for the New York Times. I've written features, straight news stories, magazine articles and travel stories. Along the way, I have been honored to receive more than 30 journalism awards.
But after leaving The New York Times in April 2009, I wanted to put my experience to work in a different way, helping executives, individuals, for-profits and non-profits alike. That's when I founded CaseyInk, LLC.
Here's what I bring to the table: Listening skills. An ability to grasp the core of an issue, and write clear, convincing prose. Reporting skills that will add depth to any research project or short opinion piece.
I've written keynote speeches, served as a writing coach, edited commentary and written white papers.
But the work goes beyond the written word. In the end, it's not just about crafting a message. It's about making the world a little better. Particularly yours.
Really.
I hope my writing enables you to meet your goals – and, in so doing, help us both do well and good.
I hold a master's degree in Communication and Public Affairs from the American University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor's degree from the State University College at Buffalo.
