About Maura Casey

It’s a high-tech world, but whether you tweet, blog, make speeches or write op-eds, sooner or later communication boils down to the written word.

I can help.

In 30 years of writing commentary, I've won 45 writing awards and have been a member of four editorial boards, including the New York Times. Before that, I was employed as a nurse’s aide, worked on an assembly line and helped run a 108-bed homeless shelter. Every job helped shape my writing career.

After leaving The New York Times, I founded CaseyInk, LLC to put my experience to work in a different way, helping executives, individuals, for-profits and non-profits alike with their communication needs.

Here's what I bring to the table: Listening skills. An ability to grasp the core of an issue, and write clear, convincing prose. My reporting skills will add depth to any project.

I've written keynote speeches, served as a writing coach, edited countless pieces of writing and directed publicity campaigns.

In the end, it's not just about crafting a message. It's about making the world a little better. Particularly yours.

I hope my writing enables you to meet your goals – and, in so doing, helps us both do well and do good.

I hold a master's degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from the American University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor's degree from the State University College at Buffalo.
